Hello, my name is Emily Karn. I’m a bookworm, cat person, writer, cook, crafter, and lover of movies, music, and tv shows.

BOOKWORM:
I love books. Im a speed reader, averaging 500 words per minute depending on the density of the material and distractions. I can read a medium-sized book in 3 to 4 hours. I like a variety of genres: Science Fiction, Fantasy, Romance, Paranormal, Thriller, Western, and Historical. I have a large personal library. I only keep books that I decide are worth rereading again and again.

• Favorite book: “The Lord Of The Rings” by J.R.R. Tolkien. I read it at least once a year.

Cat Person

My cat Selleck.

I belong to a blue-eyed, grey and white, part Siamese cat named Selleck.

Writer
I write poetry , short stories, and fiction. I will be sharing them on my blog along with events in my daily life and my cat Selleck’s.

Movies, Music, and TV Shows
I love DVDs and CDs. My favorite genres include: Science Fiction, Fantasy, Western, Romance, Drama, Comedy, Historical, Animated, Paranormal, Horror, Biographic, Classical, Country Western, Soft Rock, Classic Rock, Easy Listening, and World Music.

• Favorite piece of music: “Carmina Burana” by Orff.
• Favorite tv show: “Highlander”.

Cook
I prepare most of my meals from scratch and create my own recipes. I’m currently learning to prepare Asian and Indian cusine.

I live in the beautiful Finger Lakes Region of New York State in the United States of America. We have many scenic wonders: lakes, rivers, gorges, and waterfalls. There are a variety of native plants and animals. There are also local wine and cheese trails.

Personal
I grew up on a dairy farm not far from where I currently live. We had lots of different livestock over the years. Cows of course, pigs, chickens, ducks, geese, guinea fowl, cats, dogs, rabbits, goats, sheep, and a horse. It was hard work, but it could be fun. I have three younger siblings, two sisters and a brother. My father passed away in 1981. My mother is still alive.
