People Walking

The Bridge was the most ambitious construction project ever undertaken by humanity. It consumed the resources of the entire world. It was the brainchild of Mr. C. Ferryman, CEO of Eternity, Inc. It cost trillions of dollars. People by the millions literally died for jobs. It took years of sweat and toil. New sciences had to be invented to complete the job. The grand opening was a who’s who of the rich and famous. When an ambitious young reporter managed to secure an interview with Mr. Ferryman, she asked him. “Why did you do it?”

Charon’s simple reply. “I was tired of millenia of rowing.”
