English: Acer platanoides in autumn colors. Polski: Klon zwyczajny (Acer platanoides) w jesiennych barwach. (Photo credit: Wikipedia)

The rolling fields of golden grain,
glow under the yellow sun,
the leaves have changed,
from a harmony of green,
to a medley of red, oranges, and yellows,
the air is crisp and clear,
with a tingle that warns,
of the coming of Winter,
the mournful cry,
of the wild geese flying,
tugs at the heart and mind,
they form black vees,
high in the blue skies,
patches of rough stubble remain,
of the corn, hay, and straw,
the slowly setting sun,
weaves a glorious tapestry,
of color among the clouds,
a fine frost lays over the land,
like lace on a fancy dress.
