Snapshot Poem # 1

October 3, 2013

Some poems seem to me to be like a photograph of a moment that sticks in your mind. I call them Snapshots. Here is one I wrote today.

English: An Adult Female Tuxedo Cat

A tuxedo cat

bold in black and white

playing on green grass

pouncing on fallen leaves

pops of bright color

yellows, oranges, browns, and reds

that skitter, crackle, and crunch

thin white clouds streaking

the brilliant blue sky

bright sun beaming down

crisp fall air

rich with the scent

of dying leaves.
