I didn’t need my alarm clock this morning. 6:15 am “BOOM! Boom! Boom!” A thunderstorm started suddenly overhead. It was quite a loud wakeup call. The rain poured down in buckets for the next hour, then eased to a steady drizzle for another thirty minutes. I saw several bright flashes of lightning. There was some flooding on some of the low-lying roads. The roads we traveled on this morning when I went to Cortland were slippery but clear. One of the physical therapy aides said she had to make a detour around a small bridge that was closed by flooding. With all the rain the area has gotten this spring and summer we are experiencing a number of flash floods recently. The humidity has dropped down so it feels more comfortable if damp. Emily
