It rained for most of the night and for several hours this morning. I was inspired to write this poem.

Rainy day Lament

Rain, rain, rain, and gloomy dark gray cloud

It’s wet enough to make a duck proud.

Mushrooms and toadstools abound

Nothing but soggy, marshy ground.

Oh, for the bright gleam of sun

Outdoor activities and fun!

Where are the hot and dry summer days

Tanning on beaches under warm rays?

Alas, the season is very wet

The light I fear I will soon forget.

Miserable rain go away

The Sun should rule the Day!

Let the Sun burst forth and shine

Send us days cloud free and fine!
