Crows Versus Kestrel

There was a terrific racket this morning. Lots of loud “cawing”. A small flock of about twenty crows found a kestrel perched in a pine tree. They were diving and screeching at the poor bird. They kept mobbing it until it gave up and flew away. It took over fifteen minutes. They cats were watching every move the crows made. They “chattered” a little, apparently crows aren’t as “Crunchy” as smaller birds. Their enemy routed, the crows left to forage for their breakfast. The kestrel came back to its perch a few minutes ago. They crows victory was only temporary. Where I live kestrels are more commonly known as sparrow hawks for their favorite prey. Emily
