Bandit is exhausted this morning. Last night she found a cricket inside the trailer and stalked it. It must have come in with the laundry. The cricket made the mistake of chirping.  She crouched down, belly to the floor. The right paw slid forward, slow and smooth, like molasses. She eased her body up to her paw. A perfect example of slow-motion movement. Freeze-Frame! Then the left paw crept out. She slunk forward again. Her eyes were fixed in intent focus on her prey. Her ears were cocked forward, monitoring the slightest sound. The tip of her tail swished slightly. She gathered herself into a crouch. She sprang! Up and forward in a graceful arch. The cricket sensed her and jumped away. She pounced a second time! The cricket was slow to escape. Success! She settled down to crunch it up. Selleck came to see what she had caught. She growled at him and batted his nose. He got the message and left her alone to finish her snack. She is stretched out, sleeping on the floor. Her paws are twitching. I wonder if she is dreaming? Is she hunting in her sleep?

It is a beautiful day for the first full day of summer. The sun is shining. There is a gentle breeze. It is not too hot. The humidity is low enough to be comfortable. Thanks to all the rain, the lawns are a lush green. Emily
