The cats have forgotten their feud. They have been distracted. The sparrow eggs hatched this morning. The cats are riveted to the window screen. Their tails are lashing and they are “chattering” like crazy. Five ugly, naked, baby bird heads are poking up out of the nest (refer to the photo). They are frantically peeping for food. The parents are darting about, gathering consumables for their gaping gullets. The cat heads are swivelling back and forth as they follow the parents flight paths. The cats are enthralled. “Crunchy Baby Birdies! Crunchy Baby Birdies!”, they sing. They quiver with the desire to be outside catching the birdies. They aren’t fighting now, they are too busy watching all the action.
