It’s Shedding Season

A man mid-sneeze. Original CDC caption: “This 2009 photograph captured a sneeze in progress, revealing the plume of salivary droplets as they are expelled in a large cone-shaped array from this man’s open mouth, thereby dramatically illustrating the reason one needs to cover his/her mouth when coughing, or sneezing, in order to protect others from germ exposure.” (Photo credit: Wikipedia)

It’s that time of year again. The warmer weather has triggered the cats to shed their winter coats. Oddly enough it isn’t Bandit’s hair that causes the trouble. I thought about it for a while and realised that her long hair is heavier, so it falls to the floor where I can easily sweep it up. I also brush her once a day. She loves it! She rolls over so I can do her belly. Her eyes close into slits of ecstasy and she buzzes like a small motor. No, it’s Selleck’s hair that causes the problem. It is so light and fine that the slightest breeze makes it drift and float all over the trailer. Inevitably some of it gets into my nose and I SNEEZE! Last time I sneezed so hard that my ribs ached for several minutes.

The weather has finally cleared up. Yesterday afternoon and today we’ve actually had some sunshine.Emily
